Yes, that's right a black five will be visiting Foxfield Railway for our Autumn Steam Gala. Obviously we are overwhelmed at the agreement to bring such an engine to Foxfield and can't wait to see it at work on our banks. Black Five's were often a common sight around Stoke hauling coal trucks from the exchange sidings so it is only fitting that we can bring one in for this event.

If you want to see this engine then when visiting the Autumn Gala please take time out to see it at work on the 7 1/4 inch railway operated by a team of young and enthusiastic members.

    Naughty Rich ;)

One question though, what is Bellerophon doing over the gala as the website seems to contradict itself, It states Beller will be in steam at Caverswall Road throughout the weekend, but then goes on to say all engine bar the Dubs will take their turns on Passenger & Freight workings ?.

Now wait a minute - why shouldn't a 12" to the foot Black Five run at Foxfield- it would cause a sensation-folks would come across Europe to see it-you'd make a packet-wouldn't half bark too!

Axle loading should not exceed a bucket's. After all KESR had a big western coal tank visit and they're doing one of their own. Perhaps the tender would be a weight problem though.

Due to Bell needing attention to its bottom end it is now not permitted out on the mainline until the work has been completed, however funding is preventing this work from starting hence it will be only at Caverswall Road. At the moment it may just be on static display as some crews seem to have disappeared on hols...

Also the door is open to something large and BR as we have had a class 20 and 25 visit in the past. Watch this space... ;)
