In poor light, D of S makes a volcanic departure from Euston.

Thanks to those who suggested various photo locations for this run.

Unfortunately London Underground's upgrade works line closures conspired to keep me at Euston, but I'll try the suggested locations on the next occasion.

How do all. I saw her through at Watford. She was rather dull on the out trip, but better on the return. My video can be seen here.

Shame about the gantries..that's 'modern' railways for you.

 

I think he did quite well considering it's effectively 6 track to Watford, it's bad enough trying not to be bowled out on 4 track sections.

lucky Bugga must have got a lull in the traffic, normally at Carpenders Park you have your fingers crossed that if a Pendo turns up at the same time that it gets out of the way pronto - sometimes (on very rare occasions) pendo drivers will hang back until the the steam loco has reached the station!
