A few screenshots from today's footage. First seen in the murk at Sapperton Tunnel on the outward run, then seen at 'The Crossings' near Lyneham on the return run. Video to follow later :)

Saw 5043 race through Honeybourne earlier today - looked superb.
Thanks for sharing videos, Eggbert, I thought your video from Sapperton was superb, very atmospheric. Here's my High definition video:

(HD) No:5043 with the Cotswold Explorer 20/10/12 - YouTube (HD, 0:42)
Possible contender for the title of shortest YouTube video I've uploaded, but hope you enjoy it anyway - comments and feedback welcome as always.

Got done by the loss of light/late running at Old Hill, does anyone know what the cause of the delay was ?, I heard about 4 different accounts of varying degree's of lateness and varying reasons so god knows what actually happened.

Still impressive to see it eventually blast through 20 down, even without a phot.

My first location, at Sapperton, was ruined by thick fog, but managed a consolation shot of the Earl nearing Honeybourne.

Preceding service train hit an object (believed to be a Badger) between Ascott and Moreton in the Marsh . About 40 late into Moreton . Pic coming soon

The few followers of that "persuasion" that were out this weekend we were either with myself and Ralph to Aviemore yesterday or I think are on 1 of the TUC charters to London today. Can't say anybody had even noticed that VT originally had a Worcester-TY pilot loco. Having had several charters booked to pick up on the Old Hill line in recent years its a lively climb and I'm sure the steam fans would have enjoyed it today (although I'd not swap you for Drumochter yesterday).

Thanks Martin, one of the quotes I heard was "It's hit something on the Cotswold Line" , good to know it was the preceding train and nothing more serious, FGW are really taking this Badger Cull seriously.

... and a few minutes EARLY back into Tyseley, thanks to some brilliant running, quick station stops and some help from the signallers. Altogether an excellent day out, thanks to Vintage Trains, West Coast Railway Co and Messrs Churchill/Poole plus Meanley/Morris on the shovel. This is certainly a good itinerary with lots of fast running and the climbs of Sapperton and Old Hill banks, together with a good destination.

That 'someone' would be the fireman, Mr A Meanley. On this stretch of line there are many curves and many crossings... I'd say it was a good idea to have him checking the road ahead as well as the driver.

Besides, with an engine as economical as a Castle one doesn't need to continuously shovel coal... ;)
