Not the best kept secret that one! At least we should be grateful that someone from the RTC is prepared to clarify things for us given the tendency for some to take a swipe at them from time to time.

I think we already know. ;-) It has been clear for a while, from his postings, that MeltonNorth is "close" to RTC, and he has been addressed as "Nigel" by at least one poster on here (earlier this year IIRC) and wasn't corrected.

@ MeltonNorth - we do welcome your postings. Even though you will sometimes get hostile-sounding responses from a few, that doesn't mean everyone who reads or contributes to this forum is antagonistic. Far from it. All of us are railway enthusiasts of one sort or another, and all of us have an interest in the success of RTC and the other mainline tour promoters. Most of us are at least potential customers, and many are regulars. Although the majority of your passengers will not be found here, we are the ones who might fill your "last coach" and so perhaps make the difference between profit and loss.

A forum like this can work in your favour, as Kevin from Compass and Ben and Bob from VT have shown. I think the trick is to communicate quickly, even if it's just with a link to a "latest news" posting on your own web-site, especially when things go badly, and not rise to the bait when someone "has a go". If NR pull the plug on you at the last minute, there are ways of saying that without upsetting your valuable contacts in the charters office. Who knows, you may be able to give us a better understanding of the difficulties you (and NR) face in promoting your more "adventurous" tours.

This is a great shame the train has been cancelled due to engineering works.

There doesn't appear to be anything blocking the routes according to National Rail Enquiries.

Perhaps its something that isn't publicly available

Plenty happening on GWML on 28/10 to thwart this trip running.
