I very much doubt that this unit is fitted with AWS/TPWS, let alone OTMR. The fact that it was given dispensation to run on the Looe branch without these was an acheivement in itself, but it would never be allowed to run elsewhere on the main network as a solo power unit. It would need to be hauled by an appropriately fitted locomotive with a compatable braking system. Such is the difficulty in operating historic equipment which does not conform to the modern railway. But thank goodness there are still people who do their best to make these things happen despite all the obstacles and set backs.

That is exactly right (no AWS/TPWS/OTMR), also with regards to being hauled on the main line, away from any branch lines where it can be 'shut in' to run by itself.

This booking fee nonsense is prevalent with theatre tickets and is a growing Great British Rip-off spawning a satellite non-productive 'industry'. Surely, there shouldn't be a charge for the privilege of buying a ticket?

Any news on when WCRC might be trying again to move a diesel down to the B&W? I am booked on the 12.30 next Sunday and with three nights away in two hotels (as a autumn getaway for my wife as well) I really could do with some decent indication by Thursday that the trip is actually going to happen...

The Football Club I support (Birmingham City) when we had well known money grabbing b***h Karen Brady on the board, not content with charging a booking fee for online/phone ticket purchases, had the the downright barefaced cheek to charge a "handling fee" if you went down to the ground and paid/picked up ticket in person, they charged you for the idiot on the desk, to get up off their backside, pick up the tickets off the printer and hand them to you!, infamously now dubbed "Brady Tax".

Don't you think that had this been possible, it would have been done? You may not appreciate it but WCRC must have gone through every possible scenerio to get the Railmotor moved, and had any been feasible then the move would have gone ahead. Give them credit for trying, they did not give up at the first hurdle.

Great news :D Well done to everyone who has managed to keep this event on track (if you'll pardon the pun, again) - luckily I can make the new data although the B&B I was staying in shuts up for the winter this weekend - its gonna be a lot more difficult to find somewhere to stay.

When is the WCRC diesel setting off for Bodmin this week - surely with a bit more leeway than last?

Just had a text from a (normally) fairly reliable source that 33207 and 37516 are heading to Bodmin today. Unconfirmed at the moment, will try and post updates when I can.

Apparently ran with the 33 ONLY, but running ridiculously early. Apparently missed the Frome stop?
