Can anyone advise what locomotive(s) are likely to operate on the Santa trains and what direction they will be facing (ie chimney first out of Cheltenham)? Very grateful for any infomation.

Can't help with 'which' & 'when' but Foremarke will be chimney 1st into Cheltenham and the other two will be chimney 1st out of Cheltenham.

I assume you've seen the photo on UKRP Neil of the 8F? Steam in the landscape shot so you can't see the tinsel wrapped around the handrails?!

I came off UKRP last week! Fed-up of reading all the pathetic arguments over and over again. Thanks for the tip though!

Thanks very much - not sure why I didn't look at that part of the website myself!

The most recent entry on the GWSR steam loco depts official blog includes a few shots of the 8F being tinseled up. Foremarke Hall is booked to be out this coming weekend, I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised to discover that next week's blog entry is titled something as naff as 'Deck the Hall with boughs of holly'.

I'm not surprised. I don't bother reading most of the emails, just look at the pictures (except the ones by someone with the initals RF who pissed off some of the better photters on there!)

I found the Yahoo Groups format very difficult to view the photographs. I don't want my inbox clogging up with lots of e-mails but the web-based hosting is rubbish. The group is constantly 'temporarily unavailable' and just makes trying to look at people's efforts frustrating.
