I had the thrill of being on the platform at Radlett (the station before St Albans) early this morning when 60009 thundered through, her chime whistle having cried out as she hammered towards the station through the murk and the pouring rain! It gave me tingles!! I didn't note the exact time of her passage, but I left the station shortly afterwards, and at that point it was 08:03, so I would say that she was running slightly late but by a margin of less than 10 minutes. She was going a fair old pace!

And here it is, just up the road from there, climbing the hill between Manton Junction and Oakham, a couple of minutes early.

Dreadful weather conditions with driving rain and wind as 60009 passes Burton Salmon with "The Christmas Yorkshireman" (ISO1600 it was so dark).
