Minor delays currently reported on the District between Earls Court and Ealing Broadway (and Richmond) due to an earlier signal failure at Ravenscourt Park. Hopefully won't cause much alteration, if any, to the planned timings.

Wow! Looks stunning, fully lined. I went out to Acton with the hope of catching the Piccadilly line and beating it to Hammersmith. So luckily Piccadilly line train in the platform waited for Met 1 to pass before leaving, so we set off about a minute behind her, and ending up after a very excited driver, 'if you missed it the first time to your left is a steam train' and we ending up pacing the train for a minute or two and beat her into Hammersmith. Video to come later of Met No.1 and Sarah Siddons through Acton Town and Hammersmith.

Google "Doodle" to celebrate 150th Anniversary of London Underground today. http://www.google.co.uk Its very cleverly done in the way it follows the real life map.

Don't know how long it will be on Google (maybe just a day), so putting a copy here:

Brilliant - just wish the *real* tube lines did this, especially the double-loop line for the second "g". People in Wapping and Bermondsey would have fun.

Fascinating videos - the sight and sound of steam on the District line is pretty surreal, especially at Hammersmith with its more 'tunnelled' appearance! I haven't decided whether to go for the Sunday morning run, but it occured to me that anyone staying at the Premier Inn at Earl's Court in one of their rear rooms will have a superb view of it from the window!

That Hammersmith footage is really atmospheric! Well done to all, including the Piccadilly Line driver! Would I be right in assuming Met No 1 and co will remain based at Lillie Bridge Depot between the two Sunday engagements? Returning to Ealing Common Depot some time on or after Jan 20? Or would she be headed for somewhere else?

Apologies guys if this has already been asked somewhere in the previous 30 or so pages but who will be crewing Met No. 1?

Underground drivers who have been trained and passed out on steam or current mainline crews who are accompanied by a pilotman?

    Re: LU 150 plans...

Be aware of this folks. Just been trying to plan my visit on Sunday and found that the line between Clapham Jct and Kensington Olympia is shut most of Saturday and ALL DAY SUNDAY:http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...0QXxNw&usg=AFQjCNF4YdU9OcAto9mEjPRg2sqsOIsGjQ

What a bugger. I only found this out when doing a google search for trains to Kenny O on 13th Jan as the train planner on the SWT site would not work for this weekend between C Jct and Kenny O.

Indeed, there is another dry run of the specials tonight. Starts from Lillie Bridge Depot at 01:20 and back by around 5 if anyone is nocturnal enough to try and see it at Kenny O!

    Re: LU 150 plans...

Got home from work today to find my tickets awaiting me! Not your classic Edmondsons I'm afraid, bog-standard cinema/theatre style tickets, but with two very nice large pasteboard gold-rimmed Met Maroon souvenir tickets, with a nice line drawing of No.1 and 353 on them.

22.40 next Sunday. Buzzing with excitement! Whoever thought to use the Milk Van as the support wagon needs an HRA award, absolutely inspired.
