    I have recently uploaded some aerial photos of the lesser known parts of the GWR line.
    Also showing restored Honeybourne Station.
    Find them here and if anyone has requests for other areas I'll try to add them the collection over the course of time

    There is a book 'Flying the L&B" that has aerial shots of the entire line (by Philip Lane and Ralph Knight). It's currently out of print, though it may be available on some of the secondhand book sites?

    It's not beyond possibility.
    I've flown over The Eden Project, Cadair Idris, and The Channel Islands.
    Just need some reliable better weather :)

    Yes. I have a couple of recent(ish) Broadway Station aerial shots. I'll dig 'em out and put them on the site.

    Usually I'm busy flying the aircraft, whilst the passengers take the shots, so I have to work out what the pictures are days later.

    This probably isn't the best place for this query, but I didn't want to start a new thread.

    Can anybody advise of the Gradient profile for the current (Cheltenham-Laverton) GWSR? Although a gradient profile diagram would be the simplest way of answering the question, a written description (like "1-in-175 for about a mile then 1-in-200 for two miles") would be sufficient. I wish to get a general idea of which sections are steepest and in which direction(s).

    Starting from Cheltenham, it stays level past the race course, then climbs at 1 in 200 and 1 in 150 until a couple of hundred yards past the 3 arched road bridge to the north of Gotherington. From there it is flat until a bit beyond Gretton whereupon it rises at 1 in 150 up to Greet tunnel. From there it drops at 1 in 200 into Winchcombe. Flat round chicken curve, then rises at 1 in 200 and drops away at 1 in 200 by Hayles Abbey. It's flat into Toddington, then drops away to 1 in 150 across Stanway Viaduct. From there it is a very shallow downhill gradient to Laverton. More detailed printed gradient profiles covering the future extension past Broadway, most of the way to Honeybourne are available at a low cost from the shop on platform 2 of Toddington station.

    Have not been to GWR since the extension was opened.Can anyone help me with the mileage Toddington-Laverton please.
    Looking forward to the Gala as I have not seen a B12 working since about 1959!!!!

    About 2 miles, (i.e. roughly half way to Broadway), taking the full current length to about 12 miles. Nothing at Laverton. Just a run-around. But it does take you over the Stanway Viaduct.

    Using Google Maps from middle of Toddington platform to the bridge on Laverton Loop is 2 miles 57 chains.
    Anyone confirm or contradict this?
