It's the iso readings on his new camera... I think I saw ISO24000 yesterday.. he must have got radiation from it,

that or the effects of the very hoppy dark beer in the Bree Louise havent worked off yet... forgot it's name already (I think I was already gone before it) been watching the todays pint thread with interest.

A friend (not a railway enthusiast but knows what a steamer looks like!) said there was steam billowing out of a locomotive at Carnforth today, could this have been 45699?. Can anyone confirm if he was correct or if my friend was mistaken? Thank you.

I've had a text saying unconfirmed report of 45699 seen in steam at Carnforth today as well. Fingers crossed!

Well it's definitely not 62005 with that boiler...both 45231 and 45699 have separate top feeds so it could be either. Might be a greenish tinge to it though...?

Yeah it's not the best of photos given the amount of rolling stock in front of it but if you look at the dome it certainly looks green so could well be 45699.

Certainly looks a bit green. Judging from how high the coal is in the tender I wonder if it's got some movement planned (whatever the engine is) soon...

Maybe we should send 'agent' Ralph up to Carnforth on that microlight!

I don't know if the actual dimensions agree, but I've always thoughts a Jubilee Chimney looks slightly taller and thinner to a Black Five, it certainly looks more Jub like to my eyes.

There was just a picture recently of 45231 boiler off of the frames not looking close to steaming at all. November/December. For Galatea This is great if true!

Hmmm.... A green 4-6-0 with definite Crewe like features.

It can only be one engine....

    Best of luck, old chap!

So this is NatPres's cunning plan: to send in our undercover railtour steward to infiltrate the secret train centre. No one will ever recognise you!
