    Couple of Class 5 questions

Is 45337 staying on the line much longer, and once 44767 is back in service how long is it staying for?

    Thanks in advance

I don't think anyone knows I think 45337 will be staying most of next year!

45337's agreement runs until the end of October 2012, future plans have still to be finalised so you are wrong to assume the loco will be at the NNR next year.

Any announcement regarding future plans will be made first to the company's shareholders and then the general public.

I'm hopefully gonna be there the day before the gala, so hoping to catch a glimpse of some of the visiting engines.

Just a thought, but during 76084's stay on the NNR, maybe she could be repainted on special occasions as the original M&GN standard 4MT 76034. An 8 changes into a 3 quite easily lol

I don't think it was an M&GN standard...

Sorry, what I meant was that one Standard 4MT, 76034, had been allocated to the M&GN back in BR days.

Just to put the record straight - 76034 was never allocated to the M&GN, none of the Standards were. Six were built to be (76030 - 76034), and they had recessed cabsides to fit the Whitacker tablet catchers for the M&GN but were sent to Stratford (30A) instead. But, 76034 was allocated for a short while to 32A Norwich Thorpe and on one occassion in 1961 it worked a freight to Melton Constable.

Can anyone give an update on Ring Haw, is the overhaul still under way? Is it nearly complete? Has there been problems?

The main NNR website gives very little info.

So, how are things looking for the NNR loco department at the moment? I guess the B12 and 56xx tank will soon be joined in the operational fleet by 76084 and Sir Lamiel? Any chance of 45337 and 44767 being operational by the summer season?

76084 featured in a Channel 4 programme yesterday when Tony Robinson did one of his history walks around North Norfolk. The piece with 76084 comes towards the end of the one-hour long programme if you dont want to view the whole show, although there was a good deal of " railway" content throughout the film, including a visit to the "Royal" station at Wolferton.
Presumably Channel 4 have an equivalent of the BBC's Iplayer...

So, for the 2014 summer season, is the running fleet likely to be 8572, 76084, 44767 and possibly 92203?
