Looking into this I wouldn't be at all surprised if Beattie WT 30585 fills the void. Tank engine delivery costs like the Jinty and only short distance transportation would be required from the Battlefield line where it is visiting the previous week before returning to the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre following the Gala.
I know it is not S&D based but it is South Western loco like the 14XX class and would I believe go down well with the visitors.

I disagree - a Beattie Well wouldn't have a hope of filling in for a Jinty in an SVR timetable. If you were having one, you'd plan it in advance and have a "light duties" roster for it. Short of completely mucking up what is probably by now a nearly complete timetable can't be countenanced.

    Met No.1 anybody? :D

I do love a bit of NatPres speculation - completely pointless but, at least in this case, harmless fun!

Fair comment about the Beattie and its capabilities, just thinking of available tank loco's(if that's the budget) easily accessible.

Another nice S&D themed loco would be 4f 43924 from K&WVR but again it would cost extra to transport as they have budgeted for a tank.

A return favour from them maybe, after their hiring of 43106 last year!

    I'm just living in hope.

43106 was the returning favour for the hire of 41241 to the Severn Valley in 2009 so I understand.

    Thanks,
    Lewis

Brilliant - I've seen them running in Yugoslavia, but never in this country - every time I went to the KWVR in the early 1970's it was out of service.

Is a WTT with loco allocations going to be available before the gala?

According to the SVR Forum, no, but the basic leaflet is going to be available soon ish, about a week or so. We'll have to wait and see what detail that has on it.

I should hope the loco diagrams at least. Hopefully the WTT will end up on SVR live like last year.

Do people not learn? Not having a go at you Kje7812, but last year the biggest bug-bear prior to the steam gala was lack of loco diagrams which Tom kindly rectified. Why are people seemingly setting themselves up for the same arguments? :frusty:

We'll have to wait and see, but I agree with the sentiment.

Who said it had to be authentic? After all it's getting a Spamcam as it's motive power going along a GWR branch line in the midlands.
