    These are the replacement sets, Neil, not the original Midland ones, which were withdrawn in the early 50s as life-expired.

    Still interesting shots though - thanks for posting them.

    I think these units where originally built for a Willesden to Earls Court DC electric service. after being withdrawn from his service. The transferred North Via English Electric where they were converted to be use the now standard 50Hz AC system but at 6.6kV. The line was originally energized at 6.6kV 25Hz. As built in 1908. Being converted in 1952 to the standard industrial frequency.
