Hi . Has anyone had experience of removing the roof filler. We have removed the pipes and it looks as if the filler is screwed down with a thick rubber joint. I am trying to remove as much joint as poss to reduce friction but at the moment it won't budge. There appears to be a female thread inside at the tank neck but can't understand how all this is fixed to the tank . Any ideas welcome .Thanks

We have removed the entire tank set up before to get rid of all of the toilet, making space in the vestibule for buggys etc. We leave the tank until the last thing having already removed the rest, walls, plumbing and all. Cut out the supporting girders, carefully, hoping that the vent and filler hold the tank in place, once the smoke has cleared...we go on the roof, and just cut a hole in the roof around the vent and filler and wait for the almighty bang. The tank should be sat where the toilet was. Then tidy up roof holes and patch over with pop rivets and gunge.
    Hope this helps.

I knew I'd seen one somewhere.

    Right-hand thread.

Just need to make a "C" spanner to latch onto the protrusion at the back of the casting, with a long handle.

If your removing the tank and not intending to re use it, just use the angle grinder and cut the thing off, normally we just cut the roof and make a new plate ,sometimes you just dont the luxury of time to remove stuck fast fittings if your not going to re use them, so you resort to the fast easy route.

Would anyone have available the roof mounted filler/neck that sits on the roof and goes through to the tank. Weve had a couple of tanks stolen and need to have new made (Probably out of stainless steel?), but could do with original filler fittings to replace those nicked!
