    Hi Guys
GWR Fruit D 3403 (Fictitious 92040) along with several wagons, has apparently moved to a Holiday Camp in Cornwall, a fair while back c2011. Does anyone know what holiday camp and for what purpose?
    Cheers
    Steve

I think they acquired a toad and 2 fruit vans from us for static display. Can't remember where it was exactly. Might be some clues on the net, I'll see what I can find out

    Regards

    Matt

    Hi Matt
I can't find any details of the location. You are correct on the stock. 2x Fruit D & Toad 35380.

Lets try and remove the wheat from the chaff with this one.

Firstly, the location in Cornwall being referred to is Lower Ruddle Wharf, Bojea, near Trethowal. This is a private residence and not easily viewed from public places. Located there is GWR/BR Siphon G 1025 GWR 1025 'Siphon G' bogie gangwayed milk van built 1952

It was certainly the intention to move GWR/BR Fruit D 3403 to the same location and possibly one or other of GWR Fruit D 2887 and BR Fruit D 92004 but I personally cannot confirm that any of these moves have taken place. It is interesting to note though that the VCT now record 3403 GWR 3403 BR-built GWR 'Fruit D' Van built 1950 and 92004 as having recently moved to Cornwall.

Regrettably, for reasons unknown, the VCT website has recently been adding a number of "going too's" as having taken place when they have not and may now not happen. Thus, it would be very useful if someone connected with the Gwili or who has done a recent full stock check there to confirm which if any of the three Fruit D's have left the railway recently.

It is also of interest to note that the VCT are now recording SE&CR PMV 152 SECR 152 Four-wheel PMVY (Parcels & Miscellaneous Van) built 1922 as scrapped. I was not aware of this taking place but if it is the case has the chassis beeen retained for further use under one of the vintage carriage bodies at the railway. Again confirmation/clarification by someone with first hand knowledge would be appreciated.

I am not in a position to comment about the freight rolling stock at or intended for Lower Ruddle Wharf as such items are not one of my specialities.
