Ah, Mr "Rotorvator" how I miss his sensible and well-reasoned proposals ;)

I do agree his proposals for replacing the WHR with a tram were slightly over the top but there is no doubt that the tram movement is well on route.

Not on his N Wales routes they're not, unless you count the Great Orme, but that somewhat pre-dates his plan.

I'm wondering what measure you're using to conclude that Wales doesn't already warrant that description?

I was just wondering if anyone from the FfR can confirm how long Princess is going to be on display at Paddington for? I'd like to pop up to see her but it would be helpful to know exactly what dates she will be there so that I can plan the trip!

According to the website "Princess...will be unveiled on St David's Day (March 1st), remaining on display at Paddington for six weeks"

As far as I'm aware it is scheduled to leave very early on the 14th of April and make its way to Acton for the day.

As a matter of interest, as Silver King was not withdrawn until 1965, and Bill Hoole retired in 1959, would it be more correct to say this was a whistle which had been carried by 60016 at one stage in its career? There is a good pic of 60016 in Coster's book in 1964 with a whistle with a finial so this FR one does not appear to be that one.
