Yes D335 will replace the g2/super d diagram as a straight swap. Thanks to those who at short notice are crewing the loco.

Due to the unavailability of the g2 there will now be no early morning runpasts, we tried last night to re jig things but it was not possible.

So to confirm no night shoot and no early morning runpasts at this gala. We are sorry we could not arrange either.

STOP PRESS HOLD THE FRONT PAGE !!

Valiant efforts are being made at the moment to try and fix the super d. If the situation changes and the loco is fixed then I will post as soon as I am made aware. A big thanks to all those who are working flat out to make this happen.sng60007

Good luck with the super D

70000 is otherwise engaged at the NVR gala this weekend....

D335 does have a working boiler so there should be no complaints there - at least the trains will be warm! ;-)

Just out of interest, why has Braunton been pulled from the line-up?

    From the horses' mouth:
"Unfortunately, work being carried out the locomotive to enable it to carry out it's mainline test runs is still ongoing!...." (Riley, 2013)
Doesn't specify 'what' exactly but any word is better than none at all

Early morning runpasts are both days. I a massive thanks to all those who have worked so hard to sort the super d. I am sorry for all the confusion regarding things, its been a rapidly changing situation and I would like to have confirmed this earlier but I do have a family life as well lol

Hope everyone has a good time and thank you for supporting the elr at this gala

Well what a superb day that was. This has been one of the most varied and action packed galas I've ever attended which ensured I had a massive grin split across my face all day. Well done to all involved in organising the gala and especially those who helped to repair 49395. Hope to be back tomorrow to take advantage of a day rover. Will be uploading footage throughout next week.

Loving the film from 981smithy, the fact that 49395 is running (hats off to all who got her there) and the mixture of wagons and jumbled-up-ness of the freight.

With any luck I'll get behind 62005 and 49395 tomorrow after a very enjoyable day at the CVR today.

Magnificent Seven at the ELR Gala 23 February 2013

Three bright shiny ex-LNER locos joined the home fleet to make a strong lineup for this month's steam gala on the East Lancashire Railway.

The timetable was the most ambitious I can remember for an ELR steam gala, involving both passenger and freight shuttles venturing both north and south from the sidings at Ramsbottom, interspersing with the full-line passenger trains. So there was plenty going on during my three hour visit
