5239 is sure back before too long, within a few months. 75014 is a bit further away, we're looking forward to making some waves with this one. Anyone for blue?

    Oooh, blue. Suits you, sir!
I guess the only downside to the std 4 coming back is Lydham will then bow out, won't she?

Will this mean 7827 Lydham Manor could be running down there at the same time as the Standard 4 (75014) ?
If so I look forward to it ! (Hotel here we come !)

For the uninitiated; 'dreckly' is like 'mañana', but without the same sense of tearing urgency.... :)

I see 4588 has been moved from Churston to Paignton. Any news on her future yet?

HEARD being the operative word! The sound of her pulling away and up past Broadsands from the TSR at Waterside was immense at the weekend. Pity I didn't have any recording gear to hand. Tried it on my phone but nothing like reality at all.

4588 still for sale, 3 careful owners. Partial service history. Good economical runner.

Lydham Manor was excellent on sat. A round trip to Greenway Halt(walk to THE house and grounds)
a slip on the climb was soon caught and we made a rousing noise.
Well supported on a 7 coach train.
managed to purchase one of the last tickets for the charity cruise on.29/03 and the connecting Paddle Sreamer Exp leaving Paignton at 09.15

all staff were friendly and in good spirits. Nothing too much trouble for the booking office
7827 working this week so I understand....

I think that should be 4 owners. GWR, BR, Dart Valley Railway Association (now South Devon Railway Association) and DVLR plc.
It was transferred to DVLR plc from DVRA in excxhange for 1420 and 2 auto coaches.

Some archive clips of Scotsman on the DVR in the '70s as part of the BBC 2 programme tonight. I was a bit young to remember that visit, but I remember it slipping and spinning up the hills in 1993

Second Ray's comments - this line never disappoints. I had a five day pass last weekend in Yorkshire, but should be able to get a day out later this week to have a ride behind this splendid loco.

Should be five owners as Woodhams owned it for a spell too.
