Eh? It's not replacing it... It was going to be there anyway with 70013 but the latter couldn't make it... 70000 going to NNR has been known quite a long time now!

Just out of interest I took a couple of shots of 70013 Oliver Cromwell in the works at Loughborough GCR last saturday. Folks may like to see it's condition.

It can be seen that the pistons and valves have been removed from the cylinders.

Is Britannia going to be hanging around on the NNR for a bit after the gala, or leaving straight after the event?

It has a mainline trip on the 19th March ( Tonbridge to Worcester) and is rumoured to be going to the Bluebell for the opening of the extension to East Grinstead Gala 23rd March onwards.

Is there any timetables for this event yet?

Will be there this Friday to see our engine!

As of this morning, the website still states "Timetables will be available when finalised".

I'm intending to be there on Saturday. Is anyone able to disclose the time of the first departure from each end of the line, so I know what time to get there?
    Thanks, Dave

The first passenger departure on each day is 08:26 ex Sher and 08:29 ex Holt. There are ECS moves before that if photographers are interested, and also a Freight train at around 8am on Saturday Morning ONLY (which i'll be guarding, so do wave. I can promise plenty of smoke from the brake!).

No timetable, even start and finish times, a little over 12 hours before the event is not good enough. The website was updated a couple of days ago to say when 70000 and 45407 will be arriving over the level crossing, but nothing about the gala times.

No loco rosters, I see? Ah well, that's a shame... Not for me, I'll save myself the 'fun' of a few hours on the A47, but I might've considered going... Not bothering having a rant, the 'giving into out' argument has been done to death elsewhere, but I'll be at Peak Rail, who bothered to put the info out in good time!

70000 and 78019 have had a coming together at Weybourne. Both now withdrawn from the gala so I'm informed.

There were no injuries that occurred during the incident. However I would ask everyone to respect the fact that there is an investigation process that the NNR will go through, and will make information public when it can. Speculation as to what may or may not have happened is not useful and does not help anyone or achieve anything, so whilst the investigation is being carried out please refrain from commenting upon the incident.

I'll speculate that there's going to be speculation, nonetheless.
