I was wondering if this was the biggest gathering of this loco design, seven if you include the non-runners. It may well be in preservation terms, but a quick look at my 1964 Locoshed book revealed that no less than 13 were allocated to Darlington at that time - I only copped 12 of them :(

Excellent are any of those you spotted in the weekends line up at all?

    Other news

    S&T

Very very busy day getting the staff and token systems swapped over, also finished more painting at riverside as well as fitting the last lense and down rod to do on 11 signal, marking up for the tamper for next week and recovering some redundant bits to store

Very nice line up of locos on the disposal pit outside the shed this afternoon

Elsewhere much shunting of the two passenger takes and some gents were working on repainting up the steam crane too

Snow prevented some play from last week for the S&T ,we did manage to get some of the signal and point testing at Riverside completed which was finished today with the aid of colleagues from other lines too, so now were next onto livening up the lineside circuits back to the cabin for testing.

Elsewhere Sapper has headed off on her travels again and everyone has been busy clearing snow away from platforms and track ready for buisness as usual.

Not heard anything reported to me about signalling so more likely its related to the persons who keep leaving either needles or beer cans about under the bridge which has been reported lately. Having said that I do regularly have to tell people to stop trespassing up there.

Anyhow on other news. The interlocking at riverside has been part powered up and the incoming repeating relays and circuits tested plus a full test if the mechanical locking

A start had been made on building the box toilet with the framework in place and John has refitted the phone concentrator

Elsewhere Mr Briddon was working on the 14, the HST, Class 50 and LMSCA and narrow gauge lads were about working up at Rowsley. And the start of the Matlock station building works are due to start soon

We also now have the ex Barrow Hill up sidings LMS turnover lever frame from the NRM to go in Rowsley box when moved
