    Morning All

First Railtour of the year for me this, and I wasn't disappointed.

Just like to say a big thank you to everyone who were responsible for yesterdays run. Brilliant run, and No9 is sure in fine form. Look forward to another run with her again. I've uploaded a couple of pictures from the run. Just out of interest, who was Dennis celebrating his 60th Birthday on the outward run, I assume he's a member of the support crew?

On the return run, I did notice we had a fair number of P-Way restrictions hampering a good ascent, were these present last week? (Mostly prior to Appleby).

Anyway, I'll be looking forward to next years I feel. Roll on the weekend after next for Double Hallage for me.

    James

James, I think a couple of those restrictions are at Low House and Culgaith level crossings, but not sure if they maybe permanent or not.

Yes the first is approaching Low House, has been there for all of these runs, as has the Culgaith tunnel slack. There is another at the B-road bridge approaching Helm Tunnel. All of them are 20mph, and the last one in particular, being a mile past the start of the main part of the climb really slows things down until the eaiser grade past Griseburn is reached. That one has been there for nearly a year too, with no sign of any work as yet; the others are more recent, but I believe all are 'temporary'.

Thank you for responses Gents. I just seem to remember two years ago there wasn't as many restrictions if none at all. Linesider did hinder us I bit but she surprised me all day, i thought the run might be eventful based on the weather forecast, but I was proved run, even the minor slip at Wilsphere didn't stop. (To be honest I didn't even hear it until I watches the video above)

From elsewhere, "The temporary 20 mph restriction at Low House is a historical area for recurring bank slips, recent lifting and packing of the track has improved it somewhat."
