Cath Ex Southend - Bristol 16th March

Left Swindon 85 down... did it water/coal at Swindon??

 

Not much time in Bristol for the passengers, also puts a squeeze on servicing the loco. Wonder if it is still sticking to a 16.35 departure?

 

Why is it so behind schedule? Seems like operational/signal hold up issues.

Not sure why there was a 30 minute delay departing from Acton Yard as both Clan Line and The Cathedrals Express arrived there on time as scheduled and appeared ready to go at the appointed time. A few more shots:

Just had thunder and lightning in Bristol.

 

Very interesting that Nick, I haven't seen it before.

I looked for the return trip by searching Bristol and Bath, but it didn't show up. Can you tell me how I would find that info?

To find this I did an advanced search and searched for "Non-Passenger trains" going through Reading.

Anybody able to confirm whats going on?

Here is my video from yesterday's Cathedrals Express to Bristol, featuring 35028 Clan Line, as well as 34067 Tangmere, which was, for an unknown reason, working to Bristol. 35028 is seen at Swindon and Cholsey (in the middle of a thunderstorm!)
