Battlefield line shunter gala 13 april 2013

    On Saturday 13th April 2013 the Battlefield Line is holding a diesel shunter day. All four of the operational shunters will take part either on the main service trains or with brakevan rides. The remaining none operational shunters will be moved to a spot where they can be seen and photographed.
    Try your hand at driving the 04 / 08 at Shackerstone whilst the trains away (£5 Donation).

    Running: Class 02 D2867, Class 04’s 04110 and D2245, Class 08 D3690, and (hopefully) Ruston 281271, 'Hercules'

    The day will include extra trains and a special timetable for the event.
    The 04’s will top and tail a goods train to Market Bosworth and back before the first passenger train for the early photographers!


    The 04’s and the 08 will run the passenger trains in various combinations (running order to be released closer to the event).
    Breakfast rolls etc will be served on the trains throughout the day.
    Try your hand at driving the 04 / 08 at Shackerstone whilst the trains away (£5 Donation).
    The 02 will run brake van rides in the station between trains / whilst the trains away.

    with the shunter day preperations complete the details are now published at:

    Timetable:
    Shackerstone Depart / locomotives
    11.20 / D3690
    1.00 / 2 x 04's
    2.35 / D3690 + (08825 or D2245)
    4.15 / 2 x 04's
    5.35 / 2 x 08's


    As advertised:
    both 04's and Both 08's (if 825 is still resident) will be pulling the trains
    Hot breakfast rolls served on the train.
    a freight train will be running at 9:15 to shenton and back with 04's
    Viewing of engines before the first passenger train will be possible
    Hercules and the 02 will be running brakevan rides at shackerstone in-between trains

    Driver for £5 will also be held at shackerstone in-between trains as below:
    11:20am til 12:00pm D2245.
    1:00pm til 1:40pm D3690.
    2:35pm til 3:15pm D2245.
    4:15pm til 4:55pm D3690
