Im getting a lot of enquiries about the weather forcast for this Saturday.

All I can say is we`ll be going ahead no matter what the weather does (unless the snow drifts are blocking the entrance and the track!!).

If only 5 crews can make it we`ll just run 5 locos!

People will have to make up their own minds about the travelling conditions but if you come we`ll be doing something!

If there is any change I`ll post on here.

The forecast for this area is getting increasingly worse.

The event will be going ahead unless the snow is so bad we physically can’t run trains or access the site safely.

It will be a reduced service but steam locos will be running.

Any one who can’t make it can use their Invitations for any of our events during 2013

If anyone has further queries please contact Henry Noon on 07836 747 017 or henry@statfold-oils.co.uk

Just been looking on the BBC traffic cameras, all up the M40 from the south is clear and sunny, the M42/M6/M5 all appear to be moving with complete black tarmac visible, but there are varying traces of the white stuff on the verges. The bad weather for the midlands seems to be forecast for this evening so we may not know the full picture till tomorrow morning.

Being nearly 180miles away in relatively sunny Hampshire it is all quite hard to believe.

Living just south of the A5 in Tamworth we had about an inch of snow overnight but has been thawing steadily since then. Still very windy and Midlands BBC lunch time forecast is for possible heavy snowfall this evening and overnight. So I think we just have to wait and see.

The man from Narrow Gauge World magazine fears he may be marooned his end – weather forecast for Llanfair Caereinion says we are due heavy snow in the next hour and then through much of the night. If that happens I won't be going anywhere as I won't get out of my house!

Will be a great shame, the thought of Statfold action with a snow backdrop is very appealing...

    Cheers

Its amazing, we only had a smattering of snow here and we`re only a cpouple of miles from you!

I think the bad stuff will be in the small hours so we wont know until morning.

Have just driven up from Hampshire M40/M42/M6/M54 to Shrewsbury. Snow started about Warwick, outside lane not being used most of the way. M54 was horrid barely see white lines and heavy snow falling!!! Be careful out there.

    9.30-10.

7 locos in steam running 3 trains, top and toeing so plenty of action to see.

Somebodys drawn the short straw and are crewing Sybil Mary!

Glad to hear it's going ahead but gutted I won't be there, a lot more snow overnight and it's still coming!

Still I know a couple of Narrow Gauge World correspondents have made it so I will look forward to the pictures.
