    Weather forecast mentioned snow for the weekend...

    Should be enough time for the workshops to knock up a 2' gauge plough and snow blower to ensure services are run!

    The Yahoo forcast says light snow whilst the BBC ones says overcast!

    I`ve got faith in Auntie Beeb so it will be umbrellas for the crews on open cab locos but no snowploughs !!!

    All the same I will be leaving the winter tyres on the car for a few more weeks yet!!! Just in case.

    Are the coaches built to a totally new design or are they similar to your existing stock?

    Thank you very much to everybody involved in the SBR today - despite the weather conditions a great time was had by all.

    The new extension was wounderfull and made that big mallet work very hard (it is a parrallel line running between a new platform adjacent to the main station and Oak Tree Halt). Also the Harz style parallel departures from Oak Tree Halt were very entertaining. The new line has been laid tramway style so that steam rollers and traction engines can also stretch their legs.

    The five new balacony bogie carriages were fantastic and very comfortable.

    ...and as for those two newly imported Baldwin 4-6-0Ts from India that arrived on thursday...I was speechless!
    44657/1916 and 45190/1917 (from the Ryam sugar factory in the Bihar state).

    Well done again to everybody involved and thank you.

    Yes, just to echo the above, thanks to all the staff and volunteers for making today happen. It was one of the most entertaining open days I've been to with the new line really adding a new dimension to things. Standing on the balcony behind Sybil Mary and Marchlyn as they climbed up the bank and seeing the mallet come roaring past was something else! It was definitely worth the drive over from Mid Wales.

    Incidentally, what was the large diesel in the grain store, it looked very "chattenden" esque?

    Thanks to all the SBR staff and volunteers for putting on a great open day, the weather was cold but it was worth the drive through the snow for the photos.     Does anybody know what is happening with The Matheran Orenstein & Koppel 0-6-0T no. 740 (Works No.2343, 1907). Last time that I was there the frames where outside of the grain store in the open.

    The frame is still there at the grain store with a sheet over it next to the water tower near the Baldwins. I don't know where the rest of it is though.
