uksteam.info has journey from Crag Hall to Saltburn going all the way back as far as Grangetown before reversing presumably it can't reverse at Saltburn.

Think that 61994 will be facing north as it needs to bring train back to Newcastle PM chimney first Ki should be facing south

Saw the stock going up this evening, after seeing the two steam loco's both of which looked fine and the K4 sounding great. K1 facing south and K4 facing north with the stock heading up behind 47854(?),47760 and 37516,half the WC fleet basically!

My only gripe....it would appear that those of us in coach J are in that (to quote a friend who travelled in it) "grotty" BSK,brilliant.....

Well, just home after a very mixed day. Great work from the train crews and WCRC - thanks to all concerned. Thanks too to NR for allowing us all the way to North Blyth. However, what started with a slightly extended water stop at Ferryhill seemed to cause problems as we lost our path, culminating in a stop at Grangetown loop for almost an hour. This meant a break at Saltburn of only 40 minutes, which was too 'tight' for many folk to get food :( . We were all ready to board at the scheduled departure time, but again we were delayed. At one point, leaving Middlesbrough after dropping off the K1 & her support coach, we were 40 mins late again, & some of us were now concerned about last trains from Newcastle. However, the signallers got us from Middlesbrough to Newcastle non-stop, so thanks to them, & also the crew of the K4, who were, I understand, struggling with a badly clinkered fire. As it was, we were only 10 mins down on arrival at Newcastle. Thanks again to all concerned.

An absolutely superb trip, would really like to see this more often, most of the people I spoke to said they were very happy (until the idiot in the box at Grangetown went and put a dampener on things) and indeed we really enjoyed the trip.

Superb performance by both loco's and crews, thanks to all at RTC,WCRC,Support crews and NR (The person who let us go to North Blyth, especially!),as I said above the trip was only marred by what can only seemingly be described as a frightened signalman, surely we could've easily gone out behind the first unit,if not in front of it,a horse and cart could get from Grangetown to Saltburn quicker than a 142!

I literally ran to the chippy at Saltburn, luckily managed to get right to the front of the queue but meant I only got a record shot. That and my slightly better (albeit not great thanks that lighting on Central) shot from Newcastle tonight are available at the link below:

(Oh and coach J wasn't bad at all, actually far better than a TSO :) )

    Cheers,
    Mark

Few photos from Huntcliff - Main line workings -
Slightly disappointing with the wind and excessive amounts of clag and steam. K4 seemed to be struggling somewhat on the way up with steam all over the place!

Gave up on a shot of the return to Saltburn just a unit for the record.

Echoing with a comment above, the extended wait in Grangetown loop seemed uneeded and excessive. The tour could have easily went out after the first Pacer flew by, meaning the tour would only be 10-15 minutes late. But instead, it resulted in a wait until after the second Pacer and a 44 minute delay. And lack of working round the curve towards Redcar in the evening though after the Grangetown departure was a slight damper for us watching, but a great day none the less!
