But if she's ready to run soon, why wait that long?

Went up today and saw this!! It is a Jubilee fully coaled and was being fired, The only difference was the colour! I'm not sure if she has been repainted or this is a different loco!

Seen that picture elsewhere tonight. Tender looks a bit battered.
About as credible as 34067's pick up shoes!

If it's a photoshop job it's a bit clumsy. If it's a paint job somebody's gone mad with the spraygun. Safety valves, whistle,
handrails and even the coal has had a splash! This suggests it's been done in a hurry, as a bit of subterfuge maybe?
I have a feeling all will be revealed very VERY soon..........

Photoshop I reckon, only time David Smith has turned out one of his loco's in a non BR Livery is because Warner Bros made him an offer too good to refuse, I agree the time of year is involved also.

In other news, Firefly will be making it's first working visit away from Didcot with a 3 month stay on the Snowdon Mountain Railway...

Interesting. WCRC owns that path in the national timetable, to be used as required. Just wondering where this has shown up and why? Realtime Trains? Even if it is a loco test, it could just be 48151 or 44932 having a shake-down run before Monday's Crewe-Chester-Shrewsbury-Crewe charter.

Personally, I reckon the photo is 44932 in a hastily-applied coat of WCRC maroon as bit of extra entertainment for Monday... We'll soon see!

Until I saw that, I thought my photo-shopping was bad:

    galatea.jpg

Anyway, it's 10:02 and noone has reported anything from site. Come on people, we need news!!

What colour is it? How many wheels has it actually got? And how can you prove it's not a Black 5/Guardsman/Class 47 in disguise?

    On the 45th!
    Quote from a man inside
"You are missing the main news which is that following an agreement with Warner Brothers, 5972 is going on a North American Tour, as part of the deal there needs to be a substitute for Olton Hall for which 45699 is being repainted to carry on with the series of planned Hogwarts Express excursions. Press release on Monday"

And some people think that Photoshop was used to create the picture!
Nothing could be further from the truth.

It certainly isn't SG. Scots only have one cab-side window.
