So welcome back 5699 . Interesting in Red or all part of the subterfuge . we have a working Jubilee again and something to look forward to .

Attention seemed to be around lubrication of the crosshead so hopefully a minor remedy

Hopefully it will give a lift to the other LMS residents and we can look forward to a fully working Stanier fleet with 44932, 45699, 45690 , 48151 and 46115

If that had been a problem on Leander, C.B. would have been quicker out of the starting blocks.

Regardless of which loco it is - she looks cracking in red. Hope to see her on the main line earning her keep soon.

This is brilliant - most amusing if it's in disguise.

One has to wonder why the owner of 5690 would be on the footplate though?

Well, I wouldn't say no to a footplate ride on a Jubilee, even if it wasn't mine;)

On The Works forum there is a link to clear YouTube footage of the loco standing in and running through Carnforth station.

The chimney looks different to the one on Leander. It appears to have a slightly shortened top. Maybe they've ground the top off slightly, or cast a new one for Galatea? Assuming the loco is Galatea.

    it's 5699 100%.

45593, 45596 and 5690 all have a steam lance tap on the side of the smoke box door amongst other giveaway features.

45699 does not, and all the photos todate since restoration it does not, but 5690's smokebox still does, even on recent pictures.
When looking at the plate work, just about the only smooth piece of metal work is the newly rolled smoke box...The painters have a job on their hands to cover some of them dinks, dents and crevasses on the rest of it.

Nice to see 45699 back, now leave it red, add the lion and wheel and BR numbers :) the public will love it.. even if the puritans won't.
