Just to make sure the railway was ready for the Bagnall weekend, snow clearance took place on the 27th March.

The colliery is not ideal for less able bodied people at the moment. However, if you wish to give it try then by all means feel free. Parking is on a red ash/gravel surface with the paths around the colliery being formed of crushed stone so it is possible to get around.

Light engine movements showing as 08.45 and 09.00 from Caverswall Road and Colliery arrival at 09.12 and 09.27. Timings taken from the Foxfield mircosite (their spelling not mine!).

Having watched the snow clearance efforts in the latest news articles on the main Foxfield site would appreciate any thoughts on whether the bank is negotiable on foot. Ta ever so.

The bank is quite shaded from the weather and is not to bad under foot.

Also Alfred and Judy have arrived today and will be undertaking a test run tomorrow afternoon...

I would hazard that the walk down from Dilhorne Park to Foxfield Colliery through the fields will be very muddy following the snow fall on already sodden ground, so be prepared!

The Port of Par pair (trying saying that quickly when you've had a few!) have arrived at Foxfield https://www.facebook.com/FoxfieldRailway

Edit: Whoops, posted at the same time as Rich!

Must have been more folk at Caverswall than I thought today !. Engines are tucked up for the night - were these the ones that Harvey rescued ?!.

Note to self :- take care when getting on / off Alfred / Judy or you will bang your head ( twice so far ! ).

Our third visiting engine has now arrived at the railway... It may be a little smaller (only a little) than our stars of the show but is still equally important in telling the story of W.G. Bagnall's...

Can only concur, great day out at Foxfield on Saturday. The Port of Par locos were especially impressive.

Can I add my thanks for the organisers, and also for the opportunity at the end to see the signalling in more detail. I can't hope to compete with some of the serious plotters out there today, but I have some shots at :

Just thought I’d drop a note of thanks to everyone who came to the event. So far all I have heard are complements about what a great event it was, it certainly looked good from my point of view.

A very poignant moment for me was when all those Bagnall fitters lined up in front of Florence No.2. A scene that nobody thought could happen.

Take a look at the photos on our Flickr page here: Built by Bagnall - a set on Flickr

I spent a most enjoyable couple of hours at the event on Saturday morning. Many thanks to everyone involved. The 2 Par twins climbing Foxfield Bank with the first freight was a fantastic sight. Thanks also to all who have posted photographs. I still use good old slide film, so will have to wait a few days for mine.
