    Hi Woodster,
    We will only have just over two miles, but the terminus will be right outside Morrisons front door formerly the site of Cortonwood colliery baths, and we will be able to do sexy things like getting the engine to run round the train, and having tickets with a destination on them!!!

    It wouldn't surprise me about the amount of people who can't read closure signs.

    The most memorable being when we had the A645 closed at Hensall while we relaid through the level crossing.
    About 3.00 in the morning with all track and ballast out a Police car under blue lights screamed up to the crossing and tried to stop but failed. It didn't manage to jump the gap either.
    Tried to say that he had been chasing someone but no one else was in the hole. Road closure signs all in place as well.
    Lucky that there wasn't a Dozer or a digger in the way or any of the lads.

    Looks like a job well done, even using painted rails, the local council road salting does a fantastic job of rotting rails in crossings.

    Just a small comment.
    Is there a falling gradient on the road.
    If so there may be complaints about a bump in the road especially if the rail is at level cant.

    Hiya Gary. Just fired first loco across it was surreal, almost dreamlike to stand and look at MM on the "wrong" side of Tingle Bridge Lane. The tarmac goes down Monday, white lines Tues, Road opens Wed we hope.
    Next step on to Cortonwood to the very spot where the great miners strike started in 1984. We are planning a memorial garden and station chapel in memory of those who died in the year long struggle, and those who perished in the 1866 Barnsley Oaks mining disaster two miles away, worst ever in all England apparently.
    If we dont watch out we will become a proper railway like yours.
