Great footage Steve and Phil. I was going to go out for this myself but the weather put me off. I must be going soft in my old age! Does anyone know if 45699 is working the Blackpool job on Wednesday?

Thanks Alan, been told 45699 is doing the Blackpool run but things could change depending on perhaps how the private charter goes .

After Hellifield - Giggleswick bank, you do not get many steam runs heading up when the light is right. Several spots available. (if we have any light!!)

45699 just left Ipswich on time looking fantastic, nice set of stock too, no idea there was so many wooden bodies vehicles mainline registered.

Watched her at Ipswich too and I have to say the maroon suits her.

So when was the last time a jubilee was in Lowestoft/Ipswich?

Heres a few pictures from Ipswich this afternoon... doesn't it look good in BR Maroon.

A few pages back, I declared that I didn't think I would see 45699 in the south of England for sometime.. a week later here we go...
Not only is it in the south(ish), but rolling into Ipswich tender first on a rake of stock that was predominantly non-mark 1 and a bunch of pre-nationalisation coaches too!

I hope we see more of her down South.Would love to see her on a Bath and Bristol from Haywards Heath/Three Bridges. Some Jubes did make it down the Brighton Line a few times on I think Cross Country trains. Would be gauge friendly as well (more than a Royal Scot, Princess or Duchess anyway sadly as 46233 and 46115 are quite hard locos for me to see).

I understand the ticket letter for next Saturday's Anniversary Fenman says the loco will be 45699.

Suggesting 45699 won't be returning to Carnforth on Monday nor hauling the FCE on 22nd May?

It might, perhaps as more running in? Would make sense I suppose.

well I like to avoid adding to the rumour mill generally but both yesterday(watching Tangmere) and today I was told 45699 was going to Southall, but I found nothing on RTT to support that, only the ECS back to Carnforth.. with waterstops, so would be inclined to discount it as myth.. (though I was wrong already in the last page of the thread about it coming south).

For the Fenman..Tangmere's at Southall in working order, Bittern is scheduled out this week to.. so guess there's no shortage in Southall to cover it

RTT has Galatea heading home, I doubt that they would want to leave that stock out any longer than was absolutely necessary. Right time at Ely.
