    Well almost......
    Two half days.

I know that in July all 6 will be in York together but I will be back home in Australia by then. So I'm pretty happy with what I've been able to see.

Firstly 4489 in Shildon and then 60007 at Grosmont yesterday. Then 4468, 60008 and 60009 at York today. Add in 4472 (or 502 as she is at the moment) and that is 6 Gresley pacifics.

    Only Bittern escaped.

Also at York was the V2 and the K4. If I can also claim the EM1 as a Gresley design, that makes 9 Gresley locomotives in a fairly small geographical area.

    I can return home happy.

Now I'm sure that someone will point out another one that was nearby that I may have missed.

    Hi Muzza

Good to talk to you at Shildon on Tuesday. Glad to hear that you went on to bag such a good catch between Grosmont and York. You can be pretty certain that there are no other elusive Gresley locos in the area at present. You'll have to come back sometime to see some of them in action.

    Best Wishes

Peter James (cleaning 6229 on Tuesday)

Thanks Peter. I enjoyed our chat very much.
I wish that I lived little closer and was able to spend some time looking after machines such as 6229.

I can only think of two other surviving Gresley locos - D49 & N2 & I have caught up with both of those before (but not for many years).

    All the best

I'll be at the NRM on 10th July to see all 6 A4's together.
