13 on. Going to be a real test for 60009 starting cold from York on the fast timing to pass Darlington.

I would be surprised if she got under 40 minutes with that damned 75 mph limit, but delighted if she does. But still very good for 2013.

Real armchair stuff from me at present! Still laid low with a very nasty kidney infection, but hoping to get into the garden at least for a half hour potter later. Then, (fingers really crossed), back to my Owls. Leaving all here to some peace and quiet! Do I hear loud cheers? I believe I do!

And yes. My study chair I use when working on my PC does indeed have arms on it!

The delay appears to have happened on the run in to York. Colton Jn. 8 late York arrive 35 late. No idea why.

Signalling fault was being blamed onboard, no records broken yet.

Looks as though it's 70000's as they're under the same Hoskins stable.

It looked like it was a signalling fault from the Station: Several trains passing red signals sounding their horns, having presumably obtained permission to proceed. Not sure where it was exactly, though there were quite a few orange hi-vi's on the track at the south end. There were a series of platform alterations which must have been very confusing and annoying for the regular passenger.

Even though I knew it was late by almost an hour and set out to take account of that, after I'd been standing for half an hour beyond the expected time, No 9 almost sneaked past without notice. Hardly a hint of exhaust and very quiet.

The good news was that if it had got there as I expected, it would have been during a very inconvenient heavy shower. The bad news was that the sun had been out and went back in just before it finally arrived. 60009-(3)-web.jpg

    Another shot from yesterday.

Those bloody track-side bushes could do with a dose of weed-killer.

Thank you, look forward to seeing you photos (the ones from the Mallaig line are simply stunning).
Thank you, the 2 hour delay improved the conditions without a doubt.
