On time arrival at Salisbury. Judging by the hoarded of people round the engine, it looks well loaded!

4 mins late leaving Salisbury, I think the time for water was quite tight!

There were a few empty carriages when it left Haywards Heath but she had a few more pick up points so might have filled up then.

Will head out to see the return which is something I don't normally do.

 

PS was the spitfire fly past as she left Salisbury part of the entertainment? Came over the station banked low heading for Old Sarum airfield judging by the general direction.

Went out and saw Tangmere this morning just east of Emsworth bang on time, she was following a stopper which was only a few minutes in front so was no doubt being checked by signals as she only cruised past me. Heading off out shortly to catch the return.

 

Bit of a travelogue here, Tangmere crossing the River Adur at Shoreham on sea. Never been to the art deco palace (falling down it seems) that is Shoreham Airport, so there is some film of that

Tangmere on time on the return nearing Chichester.

 

Arrived and Departed Haywards Heath on time. Great soundtrack as she accelerated away as I walked from the station.

Roll on Tornado's (hopefully) first visit to West Sussex on Friday but thats my steam fix until Wednesday.

Saw a family group get off the train and was quite surprised to see some ladies about my own age with them but not any older or younger brothers. Something I seem to be noticing more strangely that younger woman seem interested as well.

 

Here's my efforts from today, no where near as fast or exciting as Bittern!

 

Evening all,

It feels a bit like a sideshow after the exploits of Bittern today elsewhere, but nevertheless I went to Clayton Tunnel for the northbound run up the Brighton line this evening. A rare sight to see steam heading north at this point in daylight...
