Am I right in thinking one of the coaching sets for this gala will be blue & grey? That's curiosity rather than a complaint - it will be an interesting mix and sight, and I much prefer Mk2s to Mk1s. Just wondered as it looked like there was only one maroon set up there when I visited last summer.

There will be 3 sets of coaches in operation during the gala:
    - green Mk1 set
    - maroon Mk2 set
    - blue/grey Mk2 set
As we are still a growing railway we dont yet have quite enough to form a full two sets of vacuum braked coaches but we're getting there...

The M7 from Swanage is now also confirmed - so we now have a 'Big Four' Steam Gala at the MNR on 19th -21st July, with representatives of designs that operated with each of the Big Four pre-nationalisation Railway Companies.

The decision to run to Hooe on the Friday and Sunday was taken for a multitude of operational reasons. There are a number of gated crossings to man, the lack of completed signalling at Dereham means a very long pause in services. It was decided is was better to run a frequent service with a few trains to Hooe for those who really want to do it. We hope people will understand.

We look forward to seeing you there. Timings for the B1 and Duchess have come through, low-loader is booked for the M7 and brochure is at the printers.

Will the loco diagrams be available in advance? Hoping this weather continues in Norfolk for another week!

We have decided that the loco allocations will be made available on the day for free to those who purchase a ticket. For those who are not intenting to travel, the information will be available for a supplementary fee.

The weather forecast looks good for the next week, which bodes well for the event.

The cab rides are nearly all sold out. There are NONE left on Mayflower, 1-2 left with the Duchess and a few left for either of the small tanks. If there are any spaces left, they will be available on the day.

Which, sadly, rules out a visit for me. Not travelling from Dorset to Norfolk for the Duchess, without knowing the roster. Been caught out like that once too often. I still wish the railway and the event well.

Yes, I think that's decided it for me as well. Not the easiest or cheapest railway for me to get to by public transport from Stockport, but I was giving it serious consideration, but not if I don't know whether I'm going to get a decent run behind each loco. As a predominantly diesel-hauled railway, has the same policy applied at diesel galas?

Have to admit i wont be able to attend either sadly. I thought i was working but found out i have Sunday off. But looking at the timetable and when i would arrive (after 11) it probably wouldn't be worth it. Shame as it's a rather good lineup.
