I take it you won't be up at the apparently 04:XX It leave Tyseley tomorrow ? ;)

Puzzled by the barbaric timings considering it isn't required until Sunday.

Didn't run this morning I see.
I'd imagine the crew are happy about that!

Mainline steam ban for Sunday enforced by NR due to the exception heat expected on Sunday.

    Quote from Nunney Castle website:
"Rather sadly, as we understand it, Nunney and other steam engines have been banned from operating on the main line due to the fire risk. Nunney was passed 'fit to run' on Thursday and the support crew allocated for the transfer to Bristol and Torbay Express on Sunday. A lot of time and effort has been put into preparing our loco for the weekend and although disappointed, we respect and understand the decision made. We sincerely hope that we are permitted 'out and about' soon to show you how well Nunney is running! In the meantime we will stay at Tyseley and focus our attentions on the support coach." http://www.5029nunneycastle.co.uk/INDEX.HTM

Ironic really - you want it to be nice for folks coming to see the glorious Devon sea and countryside, but it seems they can only do it by steam when its peeing down!....

Yes the Nunney website now seems to indicate 5029 will be running on Sunday, yet UKSteam is showing the tour as diesel-hauled.

Network Rail should maintain the railways properly but cut back the hedges/grass.

That Facebook post was on Tuesday. Today on the Nunny website it said about the steam ban this Sunday, I saw it in their news section. This has now been removed.
