The East Lancashire Railway's 1968 End of Steam Gala, featuring 1T57

Despite the timetables bearing little resemblance to what actually took place (including 2 trains not even showing up on Sunday!), it was a good gala. The weather even played ball longer than it was forecast to. I hope the idea of a mixed traction gala catches on, I could really get used to more of this.

In the meantime, here are the videos I took, of the 1T57 recreation on Saturday 27th July (nearly an apt 57 minutes late) and the days action on Sunday 28th.

 

A couple of videos from my visit to the Gartell Light Railway last Sunday. A very nice little railway and definitely worth a visit on one of their open days
