Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway 1940s

Hi all

bit of a late notice one this but its CCLRs 1940s weekend on the 10th and 11th , it is hoped 5 locos will be in traffic (will update this later in the week)

Hey all as promised hear is an up date on the locomotive situation

Our Guest has arrived and is now in Lakeside shed, Katie, from Windmill farm arrived this morning and was promptly offloaded and delivered to shed in preparation for her turns this weekend. she may be in steam Friday but at this moment in time it is unsure as to if she will work any passenger services. She will then be part of the CCLR 40s weekend hauling the council set both days



04 6284 was lowered back onto the track today from her works place, she has a small amount of work to go and a test run but it is pretty much curtain that she will make it unless we find any problems tomorrow.

this will give us the following line up

Bushmills Railway 0-4-0 "Mountaineer"

 

Will be interesting to see Katie in action after seeing her at fairbourne earlier this year.

Hey all quick little update!

All engines are now in Lakeside depot and ready for the weekend

Battison had a successful test run from Lakeside to North Sea Lane and then to Kingsway, and back to Lakeside, it then undertook some shunting work to re arrange the depot.

In the late hours of the day, 04 was steamed and tested after a long period out of traffic to replace its tyres on its wheels along with a few other jobs as part of its midterm overhaul.

Subject to the usual, All locomotives will work subject to availability, but as things stand at the moment things are looking rather good.

Final Details

DA1 - shuttle between Lakeside and Discovery Halt - 2open Suttons
Katie - Council set
Battison - 5 Sutton closed
6284 - 4 Longleats and a Sutton open
Mountaineer - 2 Liverpools, 1 Sutton open and 1 Bushmill

 

So the weekend that was had its problem but we got through !

Was good to see you on Sunday while steaming up hope you got some good footage, i did "try" with Katie when i saw you

 

We had good day, pity about Katie, also lost one shot due to technical error, forgot to press record (doh). Dropped by today, wanted to get few shots of battison, but she had failed again, only diesel running so we left to get some sea side shots. We may drop down again on Saturday as with all the war notices I could get anything down the south end of the line.

 

Aye Battison died on Saturday afternoon with suspected issues of the power unit, I should have been today's driver on the 04 but i had issues with the car which prevented me getting any further than Lincoln

 

I was passing through Cleethorpes this week and managed to get a quick shot of "MOUNTAINEER".
