I know I am posting about a box, but in the world of boxes, it is one of the more acceptable ones.

Trial run - Thursday eve 22nd August.

Maybe we should put steam on the back just to upset the diesel fans!

Let's hope all goes to plan. More news regarding the maintenance of Western Champion. <BJ>

1st August 2013. Maintenance is now complete on D1015 but the loco is still at Old Oak Common awaiting a bogie inspection and the annual safety exam. Once these are passed and the paperwork issued a Light Diesel movement can be arranged back to Tyseley. A loaded test run is currently being arranged from Tyseley and on successful completion the loco will be fit to work Pathfinder's Weymouth tour on the 7th of September. The loco has now been out of traffic for 3 years so fingers crossed all the above goes to plan and we can once again enjoy D1015 on the main line.

+1 to that about the old days. Saw it there a couple of weeks ago but not visible last Friday on the way back from the GBBF so I assumed it had left.

Exactly as I remember things, the Reading Station pilots (& others) always rescuing conked out hydraulics.

can't argue with history, but still love them....my first meeting with them was at a GWS open day in Taplow...yes, I loved Pendennis 3205 and 6106 but what really thrilled me was screaming Warships and Westerns just feet away

Not many Halls approved for 90MPH, fun as it would be.
