    Steve,
As I am sure you can empathise with there has been a lot of late nights this week with not one but two locos no showing at very short notice.
The timetable is probably the same bas it was but crew diagrams have had to be re written etc and with such a busy gala timetable planned you can understand that they will not want to rush out a timetable until they have re checked everything.
There is a goods due to leave holt at 7.20 but the first passenger is an hour later and please, if you make it there for that time come and say hello. I will be on that loco. That I can assure you.
On behalf of the NNR I can but appologise for the way you feel but it is usually a really good show with lots to see.
Hope to see you in the morning. Just ask for me on the footplate.

I am coming Sunday, please can someone advise the times of the first two departures from Holt. I want to travel behind 8572 and 76084 in particular.

    Thanks

    Paul

Hi all, what is tomorrow's first departure from Holt? (assuming it isn't the same as Sunday)

Had a busy day today working the pedestrian boardwalk at Sheringham, good to see so many happy people, shame the guy who got off the delayed 1602 service for the toilet decided the delay and inconvenience was all my fault! Apart from him so many good comment from the visiting public, back there tomorrow again.

Had a brilliant time today. Weather was undoubtedly helpful. Just wanted to say a big thank you and congratulations to the volunteers and specifically to the catering dept. Good food, real coffee, reasonable prices, cheery service. For those going tomorrow, I didn't have the on train breakfast (had a really good bacon butty but wished I'd gone the whole hog) but it looked really good and was superb value at somewhere between £5-6 I think including a coffee or tea. If you can get the train and not drive the beer in the Muddle and Go Nowhere bar is only £3.20 a pint (yes Londoners beer can be that inexpensive) and is delicious. A really good day out. If you are unsure...go!

Just got back after two days at the Gala and would like to echo Damian's thoughts. An excellent time was had and my thanks to all the volunteers. Despite the two withdrawals there were still 6 Loco's in steam and even a few outings for the class 37 on the Friday. Weather gods smiled as they always seem to at this gala and Sheringham was as busy as ever. Enjoyed some spirited running on the departure at approx 7pm from Waybourne on Friday when pulled by a doubleheader. I have never been up the climb to High Kelling with such elan. The last train I rode on today seemed to suffer a failure when being towed by GWR 5619 as we had two long stops approaching Holt. The loco got a round of applause from the many waiting passengers when it did finally creep into the station.

One minor niggle, and it really is very minor. This was the 3rd successive year that my pre-ordered gala tickets have arrived for the wrong number of people or the wrong days. Can someone look at the online ordering system before next year ?

Was that a B12 N2 combo Pesmo? I had 2 great runs up the bank behind them. Great fun. I still have smuts in my hair and a smile on my face

Went to the gala on Friday & Saturday and it was a very good gala and yes there was B12 N2 combo and typical I was in the wrong place to get any photos of it.

I was looking to see if anyone was filming at the entrance to the cutting towards the top of the bank, but they had all gone home so missed a fine sight. Earlier there had been up to a dozen people there with Cameras at one point.

Did anyone go today and were lucky enough to be on the black 5 and 70013 double header? I was lucky enough to be on the footplate of the Black 5. An amazing experience I will never forget!

I did get to fire the B12 this afternoon, with an excellent teacher things were going well on a difficult loco to fire!

Glad you enjoyed it, I am now officially knackered, I know Alex is too when I saw him leave! Roll on next year! I am learning there is an excellent team behind the NNR with many many people behind the scenes making things work.

If you find any good videos post them.

    Steve

SAYFILMPRODUCTIONS put this on YouTube and it shows what is I think your Black5/70013 ascent and another one with Ollie and the Standard 4. Also watch until the end where there is an absolutely cracking final Sunset shot. Great filming sir.

Thank you, as already commented some of the running at the weekend was 'very noisy'. Fantastic gala as to be expected from the NNR, awaiting with anticipation the Spring gala. As for the sun set shot, most people left about an hour before due to a large bank of cloud arriving, looks like the wait may have paid off...
