Mk1 BSK 34456 has arrived at the Bluebell from CTMS on loan from it's owner, and will replace 35448 in the Wealden Rambler set, whilst I believe 35448 is heading the opposite direction.

A friend reported seeing an unidentified coach today, travelling north on the A38 on a low loader with police escort between Burton on Trent and Derby.

Coach was in, i quote, "tatty condition, in faded blue livery, and appeared to be wooden bodied as it had external beading".

Thought it might be the LMS D.1692 from the Gloucester Warwickshire, but this appears to have still some remnants of red livery.

Anyone any ideas of which coach this might be, and where it was heading?

Converted Mk1 SK to Buffet car S25843 "Kate" made its way from SVR Tunbridge Wells West to Cranmore earlier in November, also Mk1 CK 16012 is reported to be in the final stages of overhaul and will be heading to the Bluebell...apparently

Probably a fairly obvious move, but 4 Ashbury Met coaches 368, 394, 397 and 412 left Sheffield Park on Friday heading to Lillie Bridge Depot, Earls Court.

Another obvious one, but 4 Ashbury Met coaches 368, 394, 397 and 412 arrived a Sheffield Park last week after their jaunt on the Underground.

Mark 1 BSK No.35448 left the Bluebell Railway on Sunday. This coach has been replaced in Bluebell service by the freshly overhauled No.34556, and is now going to the East Somerset Railway. This was a return load I believe for the Alleley's low loader that bought one of the Mets back from their sojourn "up in the smoke".

I learned today that two more blood and custard coaches are coming on hire to the Bluebell from the same source at Stewarts Lane .

Anyone any idea when that might be?

    Thanks

Said person's aim is to recreate a particular train (or perhaps more realistically a portion) that he recalls from his youth, I believe , so it could extend to 5-6 coaches eventually. I believe it is the same owner as RBR 1674 and FO 3064. Good for the Bluebell, I'd have thought, it's easing the load on C & W there.

Not sure when, or if it's a completely done deal yet. Said coaches, I think are at Cranmore being overhauled. Completely disagree that it's good for Bluebell. It just consigns more unique and historic vehicles to rotting away under sheets, though not a subject for discussion here.

I can't see why it consigns historic vehicles to rotting away. The Bluebell already uses some Mk 1s and comments on suggest that some are not the best possible advert for the railway. If they can be displaced by restored ones at no cost or effort from the Bluebell staff, surely that is a good thing?

With all due respect, I think you are missing Tom Waghorns point here.

Yes it is a good thing that the Bluebell get ready to run vehicles at little or no cost, though IMHO this policy is very short sighted and not a good management decision which means the irreplaceable older and vintage stock will be pushing up daisies sooner than you think.

    Do you see the point?

    Regards
