It has shown 70000 on the top of the timing sheet since last Thursday when I first looked but since then 70000 has been removed from both the UKSteam info site and the Icons of Steam website.

The trip got even more "interesting" today when I found some new tickets in my e-mail inbox today with this message:
    "Dear Passenger,

Please find attached documentation containing your NEW tickets. We will be using a different carriage than originally planned, with different seat numbers and carriage letter."

I did wonder just how long 70000 had been up - the plot thickens................................. strange how those in the know aren't saying anything.................................

Still all should be revealed tomorrow when the consist heads to Alton! ;)

Makes me wonder what is going on when nothing is being put up on the SD site or on the SD Facebook page. They usually update the FB page just before a trip.
My Father is going to see the ECS move tomorrow to find out what's tacked on the rear. Perhaps they are sending 45699 down to start off the new contract in style?;)

Now that would be nice. After a near silent summer the SW mainline could do with some noise!

It's an ecs and MHR doesnt have turning facilities. Turning on route, mid-week is problematic.
Easier to send it with the 47 on the front and the Brit facing London on the back.

For the return ECS doubtless it would be the same thing, but with the Brit now facing the country.
Question is does the 47 rest at the MHR for the next few days, or tag along for the ride.

    Agreed Southall is looking pretty good right now, 34046, 44932, 45231, 60163, 70000, 70013...

I think that Steam Dreams passengers will now have to come to terms with the fact that a DL in the consist may become a more regular feature of these trips for whatever operational convenience WCR sees as appropriate. It's a sad fact that if you don't have Class 66/67s around the country to help out when needed then you have to take your shunter/assister with you or incur extra costs for separate paths.

So what do you reckon for next years ACE Al: Black 5 on the front assisted by a 47 on the back from Waterloo?

    70000 it is then?
They might keep the 47 on the rear as it will be 70000's first loaded run after the extensive work at both Crewe and Ian Rileys works.
