There appears to be no news on Cromwell so what are the chances of another Brit on the NNR on the 5th. I know it's meant to go to Stratford next day of course. Just a thought.

So will the diesel necessarily be on the front today with Braunton tucked in behind? Or could it be diesel on the back?

Edited to add: I see the Realtime info states:

    Diesel locomotive, trailing load 455tonnes

RTT always states diesel, even for steam traction, so sadly that doesn't help you

Braunton was tucked in behind the diesel on the ECS movement to Southall this morning. The Barton Hill museum is now empty. <BJ>

Thanks for both replies. Was about to dash out to take my chances but will give this one a miss.

47237+34046 raced north through Winchfield on the fast 12:46. Huge wheelflat on the front bogie of the 47, my hearing has only just come back.

But, it also states maximum speed, if it states " 50 or 60mph max" it is most likely steam, for diesels its usually 95mph or thereabouts, hope this helps.

I'm not biased either Stuart, but your picture of The Earl at the same location is far superior.:D
