    Crewe Heritage Centre is pleased to announce a modern traction gala using its fleet of locomotives on Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th October 2013. Locomotives in use on brake van rides will be 47712, 03073, 73006 and industrial locomotive "Vanguard" ( courtesy of LNWHR). The event will also feature model railways, railwayana displays, photo displays, miniature railways, operating signal boxes, talks about the APT and class 47, photo line ups, films shows etc.

    The event will also feature the APT driving... trailer 48103, being tilted for the first time since the 1990's along with other attractions to be added. Souvenir tickets and "rover" tickets will be available. Early morning / early evening dinner experience will be available (pre booking advised, limited spaces), with photo line ups and start ups. Usual opening times are 10.00-16.30 prices adult £6, concessions £3 family £14.For more details please see the website www.fochc.co.uk.

    APT
    A talk will be given by Bill Andrew who was a traction inspector on the train when it rain in service and on test. This 25 minutes walk will be followed by the driver trailer 48103 being tilted (additional cost)
    Talks take place 11:00; 11:25; 12:00; 12:35; 14:00; 14:30;15:00 and 15:30 Tilting will take place 11:30; 12:00;12:30; 13:00; 14:30;15:00;15:30 and 16:00

    Join our experienced inspector as he guides you around the class 47.
    Talks take place 10:45; 11:15; 11:45; 12:15; 14:00; 14:30; 15:10; 15:30

    Various sales stands will be on side including the class 40 preservation society 40088 cab which will be open
    Dave Lewis Railwayana will be putting on a modern image display and available to give advice on any railway items you might want valued.
    Refreshments
    Refreshments will be available in north box will include:
    Teas; coffees, hot bacon/ sausage baps, chips and light refreshments. Also tea, coffee and snacks on the A.P.T.
    Also available:
    Modern Traction Even commemorative beer glass with tilting A.P.T. priced at £3.00
    All monies from this event will be towards the restoration of D1842 to working order.
