    Good morning all.

We are starting the overhaul of BR(W) pannier 9466. The owner is in possession of most of the drawings for the locomotive, but not the boiler drawing, which includes the front tube plate. We have checked the NRM, Didcot and other obvious sources. Now as an outside shot, I wondered if any of you might have ever seen one or know of one.

Its a Standard #10 boiler, the non-super-heated version. 3205 is the other locomotive with a #10 boiler, but this is the superheated version. If anyone could please help we would be incredibly grateful.

Have also answered on TW, but have you tried the SVR. Not sure if 1501 has the same boiler or whether it is superheated or not.

SVR do have the drawing for a No 10 boiler on their drawings list.
Their ref. is 1200. GWR drawing No. is 71821.

1501 utilises the Std. No.10 boiler and is saturated as per 9466, certainly worth getting in touch with SVR, not sure if 1501 has had a tubeplate replacement in preservation, others on here will know I'm sure.

1501 is superheated like 3205, so I assume that is the drawing the SVR has.

Still drawing a blank on this one.......

You sure? Would of sworn she was saturated when I last spoke to the SVR boys?

That's strange: I wonder where she picked up that boiler. RCTS has the whole 1500 class as having the Class KB non superheated boiler rather than the superheated KA as fitted to the 2251s and 9400-09.

Rather than assuming why not ask them as firstly 1501 isn't superheated and secondly Std Tank even gave you the drawing reference and I am sure that the SVR do have the drawing you require.

Many thanks to all of you. I was misinformed on 1501. Who would be the best person to contact on the SVR?

To clarify the confusion I have spoken to the SVR and; 1501 is not superheated, but they only have the superheated drawing. Thus we are still looking for a suitable drawing for 9466....
