RTT seems to show the failed freight on the move again. Following Haverfordwest-Piccadilly service a mere 2 hours 20 mins late.

Popped up to Salisbury to see this earlier after going down to Weymouth for Tangmere. Britannia looked and sounded superb, and the train and platform looked very full. Agree with everyone who has praised the organisers for doing everything they could amid the challenges posed.

Steam buffs need to know that this is a diesel hauled return plus a positioning move for 70000. I have got my book out!

Here are my clips from this morning. In the Abergavenny clip you can just see the 66s in the northbound loop waiting to continue and rescue the failed class 70 from Pontrilas which had caused the delays to all trains in the area including Britannia. Thanks to the crew on the loco and train and to those who purchased tickets enabling this train to run - a fine spectacle for those of us at the lineside.

Yep - sounds like a strangled "Streak "!! Actually a bit too much whistle for my liking at Aber, drowns the superb exhaust.

My footage from today's 'Cathedrals Express' with 70000 'Britannia', two superb performances at Severn Tunnel Junction and Abergavenny.

Great performance today from Britannia. Running late aided in some excellent lineside shot's captured by all.

Still 60 late despite DL haulage and today's joke is that our revised path gives us 5 min for a loco change at BTM!
