Another 13 years and perhaps there'll be a great gathering of the survivors to celebrate their 75th anniversary!

 

Did you miss the do at Shildon a couple of years ago? All six survivors plus the prototype. Brought back many memories of my spotting childhood!

They oozed power with the deep body sides. They can still turn heads. Great machines.

 

I always preferred Deltics in green myself. Deltics seem to loose their brutal looks in BR blue in my opinion.

 

'Orrible springs to my mind.

 

Couldn't agree more. Two tone green to break up the sides and the small yellow panel to soften that great big nose. Lovely pic by the way.

I'll take any colour you like (even the Porterhouse Purple) just as long as both engines are running and there's an "enthusiastic" driver on the handle.
Best I ever heard (55022) was an aforementioned driver up the hill from Dewsbury to Morley Tunnel. All the valley heard that.
