I'm on this one tomorrow. A very nice local pick up - couldn't be missed!

On another note, The landlady of one of the CAMRA pubs in town (The Fountain) which doesn't normally open during the afternoon said she would open tomorrow after we told her the train was coming (stopped in whilst on VTs The Elge Explorer the other week).

Managed to get to Cambridge station during my lunch break (clients office is only a two minute walk from the station!) - hopefully they should go through the other way just before I get on the train home later...

Just back off this one. Enjoyable trip with a nice blast down the fast line on the ECML at one point on the outward run.

Filmed at Waterbeech, where I tried to be clever, filming low and into the sun, that didn't really work (admonishments about the proximity to the line will be ignored, its actually a "legal" location) and at March where the locos were turned on the triangle.

Legal position or not, did you give any thought to the footplate crew who by the sound of things were not impressed!!!

Are your videos still uploaded to Youtube in HD? Youtube only gives me the 360p option now, used to go up to 720p or 1080p. Saying that it looks the same with other videos as well from other people.
I haven't changed any settings as far as I know.

When I select the quality button it displays 'Auto (360)' which is the default setting, then clicking on Auto gives the options as before up to 1080HD.

Nonsense. If you don't know Waterbeach just look on Google Maps Streetview.

You create good videos which I enjoy. I hope you continue being able to make them - from a safe place of course 10ft from the nearest running rail.

Doesn't work for me, just sticks on 360p. My connection is reasonable, about 6meg.
Also passes all the elements of the BBC iPlayer streaming test.
Just tried IE instead of Chrome & the HD options came back. Very strange.

I usually use Chrome with this extension: http://www.autohdforyoutube.com/

Shortly after selecting play, HD, if available, will be used.

I have over the years done loads of video on preserved lines with a lineside permit and I would never be allowed to go as near the line as that
Please in future be more considerate

Wrong! The position from which mrKnowwun recorded his video. Waterbeach.jpg

I still think someone low down in that fenced corner must have been a bit unnerving for the loco crew.

And from the comments above I feel at least a few photographers here would have put the loco crews concerns above them using a very tight position.

But no so for others who might feel that a "legal" location overrides all other concerns.

Down to individuality as to how we each approach such matters in our hobby. I personally would have not stood that close under any circumstances.

I presume you are suggesting the filming location was in the corner of the somewhat unusual fence?

In other words, standing on the coping stones, albeit behind a thigh/waist high fence?

Would you feel happy standing on the copes at platform height while a non-stop train sent through?

And where usually is the "stay behind the yellow line" yellow line on NwR platforms?

"Would you feel happy standing on the copes at platform height while a non-stop train sent through?"

I would have no concern whatsoever.

"And where usually is the "stay behind the yellow line" yellow line on NwR platforms?"

I travelled for decades before it was considered necessary to paint lines on platforms.
