Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but here goes...

Wayyyy back in 1996 members of what was to become the LMS Carriage Association got wind of there being carriages in the fields just north of Aberdeen. So we made the first of what would be a number of trips up there to see what we could find so we could recover to help with the restoration of the vehicles in our keep. I managed to video a fair bit of it and over Christmas re-edited it to share with the carriage folks. The link below will take you to the video. Hope it is of interest.

There maybe more videos on the way, if I can get them done.

Hmmm.......I must admit I don't recall, but I have heard about it. I think Harv, might have more knowledge. It's a minefield fo Railway carriage heritage up there.

Spent the equivalent of a month up there in 2009-2011 working through old lists of what others had seen and hunting out others. My interest in pre-grouping is not great but most of what I am aware still exists can be found on the VCT Carriage Survey http://www.cs.vintagecarriagestrust.org/se/search.asp Use Present Location and locations are suffixed Aberdeenshire or Moray. Similarly references to the grouping era carriages can be found there. A basic listing is also available at http://www.rcts.org.uk/features/pre...hing Stock of British Railways - Part Two.pdf in the Preserved Coaches section of the RCTS website http://www.rcts.org.uk/features/preservedcoaches/ You will need to scroll down to pages 51 and 52 on the pdf.

I believe I have followed up 98+% of those listed on what I believe to be the LNERCA & LMSRCA listings compiled in the 1990's. I am though always interested to receive information about others which can be followed up on future visits. The number of survivors is though declining year by year.

    Wow! Great links. Thanks. :)

Even though their numbers dwindle over the years at least they won't be forgotten.

Errrmmm...afraid I don't have any more ideas...other than if there is a pub with a carriage attachment, as it were. There is where carriages have been spotted in the past.

I'm not sure if all private dwellings that are coaches are online as some people like to keep private. How it doesn't suprise me you haven't found it as if the are built into houses they are usually very well concealed.
