I definitely hope to be here, last time I went to CVR Cauldon branch probably wasn't even a fantasy! A great line up, can't wait to see the steam motor, and just generally have a good look around

I must say that for a railway that can be quite limited in terms of steam power this is a really fantastic line-up, and I very much hope that I can attend. Having travelled in the Railmotor on the Looe branch I wonder if they'll give it a go up to Ipstones?

Sadly not, *if* R93 does visit then she will be restricted to the CVR during the gala weekend.

Two things I would like to see at the steam gala - one, the railmotor extending it's run from Froghall onto the little used Oakamoor section. This section of track is often asked for by enthusiasts.Secondly if there were any spare paths (possibly instead of the freight even), how about the offer of a brake van ride using the newly restored 'Oyster' and obviously charging a supplement to anyone who wanted to ride.

Will 93 be coming solo or with it's trailer ?, can well understand keeping it on Froghall - Leekbrook with it's limitations.

    To answer all above questions:

    R93 Trailer?
    - R93 will be appearing solo, unless someone willing would be kind enough to sponsor the additional transport of the trailer.
    R93 to Oakamoor
    - Not on Steam Gala weekend, but it is being looked at for following weekend's Railcar Gala (ft R93 + 104, details tba shortly).

    Brake Van Rides
    - There is no Demo Goods at present as R93 is using the third path. May well be done at Anything Goes Gala in June though.

    Jon :)

Thanks, I'd probably be down regardless for 93 as it's the first time the thing has been anywhere near me.

[Paint Froth] Has a look for the TKH been decided on yet ? [/Paint Froth].

As are a few others. Coincidently it is the first time that R93 will have operated services on a line that was not on former GWR metals!

As for the TKH, the lads have decided on a colour scheme but you'll have to wait for the Anything Goes Gala for that one! :p

The timetable should be published next week.

The agreement is signed for the Steam Rail Motor now so everything is sorted for the event.

Looks like a good gala line-up. Just a little surprised to hear SRM93 announced, given that it was supposed to attend the SVR gala, but then withdrawn due to expense. Are the associated costs of bringing SRM93 to the CVR the same as they were for the SVR?

Whilst I can't comment on the haulage and hire fee costs for the SVR, we put together a business case for bringing in each loco or vehicle for the gala and we can justify bringing in the Steam Rail Motor.

This is probably the most adventurous gala line up that the CVR has put together and hopefully will have something for everyone.

As a complete guess, Severn Valley gala loadings would make bringing the trailer an absolute must - thus (presumably) doubling the costs of a road move, whilst Churnet are working on the basis of getting away with bringing just the railmotor itself?

Also maybe cost-benefit. Perhaps the SVR figured that a lot of people would attend the gala anyway, so the cost of the hire wouldn't be justified in a relatively small number of extra visitors specifically attracted by the railcar. Whereas perhaps the CVR figure having the railcar would make the gala much more of a "must visit" and therefore bring in proportionately more visitors over and above what they would otherwise expect? Just a theory…

Little bit of both I'd say, in addition to we are the first non-Western line to hire R93. All other visits have been to former GWR/BR(W) areas.

Can you still get lineside permits for the day for Froghall - Leekbrook ?, not much point going up the Cauldon line if 93 isn't and the valley isn't overly blessed with numerous public spots.

Yes, I have updated my first post but costs are £22 (1day) / £30 (both) and passes are available from Cheddleton MPD Office (next to the sheds). No access is available to the lineside for Leek Brook - Ipstones.
